I have a live plant on my desk and a full spectrum light next to it, but because the lamp is at too low of an angle, it's not quite getting as much sunlight as it used to. It was growing beautifully and has confident green shoots at the end of its leaves, but since I've changed things around its shoots have kind of wilted a little bit and it doesn't look as happy as it used to.

I was thinking about this yesterday, and realized as a musician when you get reciprocation for your music you feel a lot like a plant that's getting sufficient sunlight. You start to gain confidence and feel ready to grow, reaching higher and feeling strong. When clouds come to cover the sun in uncertain times, you start to withdraw your enthusiasm, wondering, is what I'm doing really worth it?

I'll try to tell myself the same thing I'm telling my plant.. just hang on!
